At Ninjas previous home there was a morning ritual.
Every morning at 5:30-5:45 the huskies, outside, start to howl and at the dogs inside howl back.
When I brought Ninja home, he was adopted at 2 years, he continued the tradition. Since he is absolutely silent (no barking, no howling, no talking) he jumped on the bed and licked my face, ears, neck without stopping, literally 2-3 minutes…
It was hilarious, you can’t help but to laugh out loud… I learnt the first day to keep my mouth shut tight unless I wanted his tongue in my mouth… yuck 😀😀
Ninja eventually stopped.

About 2 months ago Ninja started to stand next to me each morrning and returned to sleep shortly after.
At first I thought he’d need to go outside… but that wasn’t the case.

2 weeks ago Ninja started licking my face again in the morning, just ad he used to… he requires me to pat before he returns to sleep. I have no clue what this is about.
.
I am happy about it, but wonder what made this behavior return.
Is it females in heat outside… they all pass our house, since we are the last house before the forest… is it because I am sleeping bad and he wants to wake me from a nightmare (had pretty ugly ones), or is it just a friendly greeting – showing and expecting some affection back?
I am puzzled… and laughing… with sealed lips 😊😊
