There are currently dozens of accounts using my pictures without consent. They do not ask for permission and try to grow their account or business using my work.
Uploading pictures without consent of the creator is copyright infringement. Even if you give proper attribution, you are still violating copyright.
.
A big part of the problem are people that follow these accounts and give them engagement this growing their account and making it more visible to others. By doing this you are hurting original creators like me.
.
You have no idea how hard I work to provide you with the content I create. The training, buying the gear, travelling to these locations, expenses at the location ( e.g. 80€ at the glacier for the aerial cableway ), waiting for hours to get the light right… then post processing, keeping in contact with other accounts and replying to messages. The point where I take some pictures while hiking lies way past us.
In my high times I have spend 6-8 hours a day here on Instagram alone, trying to keep the engagement high. Instagram/Facebook punishes creators hard when they slack with engaging… They reduce visibility and only hardcore fans will see Your work. For others it will be invisible.
.
As a content thief you need to do nothing… You download a bot, that will automatically scrape pictures and captions from tags you program it to and set it to autopost 2 or 3 times a day.
.
Watermarks are no solution, they get cropped or edited.
It is frustrating, I have right now 76 feeds in my list that try to make money using my work and see followers liking their content.
It costs a good 10 minutes to report a single site, if they took only a few pictures.
The largest account took 99 of my pictures… 99 times where I have to copy their url and then find the picture on my feed copy my url… It is really taking the fun out of it a bit…
.
It is not true that You lose your rights when uploading on social media, you give Instagram or Facebook the right to display the pictures because otherwise they would be unable to do so… But this is for the Social Media company only and not third parties.

While there are cold and damp.moments in autumn there are also breathtaking beautiful ones.
This happens only 3 to 4 times a year where I live. The huge river Rhine (1/2 mile wide here) in our valley produces a lot of fog in the mornings. Even in sunny days the fog will often disperse slowly during the day. This happens usually rather slowly and the sun is unable to breach the fog to cast beautiful rays.
But a couple of times a year the sun is strong enough to breach the fog and illuminate it in a beautiful golden light. There will be beautiful God rays….
When this happened I was not good at photography, yet… Did not look for details… Invisible paws, odd positioning of legs, but due to its light it was a very special moment. I will – as usually – upload it as a story as well in a – more beautiful – wide version.
This is where my tiny lightweight camera comes in… I can carry it with me at all times and am able to capture these moments that will often last only a couple of minutes.

Some of You have seen this before, but it is my favorite fall picture. It does not work well on Instagram, die to its wide orientation. But in large on my screen it does look so perfectly moody.
Fall has arrived and we currently do have this exact weather. It is foggy and rainy… The air is filled with the scent of moist earth… The fog will leave tiny droplets on whiskers and fur. It’s the time Roja will have to wear her rain coat a lot and the dogs will be clamp to the touch.
There are plenty of mushrooms and I just love the bright greens of moss…
Some people hate it others love it… I love to be on the lookout for these special spots throughout our walks.
.
By the way… If you have a minute you can head over to @kaihu_und_hadez It is Frank’s birthday today and the reason we had so many guests yesterday 😊 I am certain he will be happy if you leave him a message 😊 Happy Birthday my friend 😊

This may become an awkward post that can possibly only be understood if you own a ( or a pack of ) dog.
One part of bonding with Your dog is that the dog will try to be close to You… e.g. lay down next to You, nap at your chair when You eat, lay next to you when you are watching TV, lay on your feet while you are in your office. I am sure you heard it all…
Ninja does not even want to be separated when you go to the toilet. He used to put his nose through the metal ventilation openings of the bathroom door and hurt his nose while doing so. So eventually I started to leave the door open to prevent that from happening.
So he sits next to me and looks what is going on… This is actually how this picture was made.
I told Ninja that we go out for a walk, but then decided to relief myself and Ninja looked at me like this 😆🤣
.
Ninja got used to wait separated by a door and sniffs if I am inside the bathroom. He will then lay down outside content knowing that I am inside and have to get past him when I get out.

7 years ago, my old Husky Akiak was very old and it was clear he would not make another winter, I was desperately looking for another dog that would fill this void.
I had written sanctuaries and shelters for dogs that were rather difficult to handle.
But they all denied me a dog, because they thought that no dog would have a good life with me. I had no garden, a small apartment and was weird ( Asperger ftw! ) I tried to reason that while I am not good with people I am good with animals. There are quite some dogs that I was sitting now and then that preferred to walk with me over accompanying their owners 😆
It was at least 15-20 dogs that I had applied to and it was really frustrating.
One day I found a post on Facebook, some dogs that needed to be re-homed because of the death of their owner. I saw Ninja ( had from their bad photographs ) no idea how pretty Ninja was… I just loved his posture and hug huge head with these ears laid back. See real people had already shown interest in Ninja and I was putting all effort and passion in my mail.
Apparently you already know how it turned out, but back then I was on the edge. When Esther told me she wanted to check me out on person it was insanely difficult for me to come and visit her. Fortunately though I did… I recall the first evening where we sat on the floor in her dog hotel with like 7 dogs craving for attention, climbing on top and over me, and a little jealous glance from Esther 😆
Over the years we became good friends. Esther visited us here in 🇨🇭 I set up her Laptop and she had a few days decelerated life here in the sun 🌞
We found some older Ninja pictures and this is one I had not seen before. People always want to know how Ninja looked as a puppy… Here he is… You can still see his black face/mask that was origin for his name Ninja.
Would You have thought how beautiful he turned out? I sure wouldn’t have…
.
When I look back at this time I am actually wondering if there was not actually some good to being denied over and over at the shelters. I would not have met Ninja… Someone told me once ‚You never know if something is good or bad until way later‘

The day started off engulfed in clouds/fog. I love when that happens here, because we usually have this amazing view that can’t be properly captured in a picture. But when we have fog it’s as if the outside world is non-existent. It always reminds me of the nothing in the neverending story.
.
It quickly cleared up and I went on a hike with our guest to visit our neighbor’s lions, tigers, leopards and camels. People often wonder when they hear the roaring that echoes though the valley, but it is the visual experience of seeing the animals close up on a farm that makes you realize the situation.
.
Seems as if the water buffalos are living on the meadows right next to the house again. Now they have super cute tiny calves and I am a bit worried that the dogs nights cross the fence. So far so good though.
They even stay in the garden with deer, rabbits, foxes right outside so I think they won’t cross… But I am extra careful, just to be certain.
.
I now know the kind of the larvae we saw on our hike. In German it is called a Windenschwärmer. No it’s not a Pokemon and not ‚Nimmersatt‘ 😆
.
As I like to spoil our guests we had the delicious pizza yesterday, BBQ’d on a stone… It is so much better than those in the oven… and better than in many restaurants.
We just finished having waffles and tonight I will make my favorite dish 🤤
.
Now I will take care of our guest again, see You soon 😊

Ninja does not like to share his delicious treats and glances towards Hadez with this adorable expression on his face. It does look like a this is a combination of ‚mine‘, ‚let me have it‘, ‚I really want it‘.
.
This may sound alike but there are indeed slight variations. Does he turn the head away to signal ‚You can’t have it!‘ or is it appeasement or is it a curious glance at what Hadez is eating? Maybe he wonders who got the bigger treat, or to check if Hadez likes his read to claim it in case Hadez drops it to the ground.
.
I often wonder what is going on in the head of our dogs and feel like I do understand many situations. But of course I can never be certain.

The treat we feed here are dried beef chaps from @lico.nature
Last week I visited Lico Nature in Gelsenkirchen. I wanted to get to know the people in person as well as get a first hand impression on their manufacture. After a breakfast and lots of treats for Hadez and Ninja I was certain they are equally dog crazy as I am 😊
I was led through the manufacture where they produce BARF and Dog Snacks. All meat and products were as fresh as they can be and of very high quality. There were chaps, just like this one, ready to be dried, as well as any other snack you can think of. I will cover more details in one of the next posts 😊
I mentioned that we have a new partner we do collaborations with. It is @lico.nature who provided these dog treats.

I am really uncertain if people like the post today. Usually dark pictures and ones that are not cropped 5×4 do get a lot less engagement.
But I really wanted to post this picture… I used to love to go into the forest at night.
I love how the other senses take over when eye sight is limited… You hear so much more and there is diversity of scents that you would otherwise hardly notice. Especially in full moon nights eyesight is pretty good actually… You can easily see 200m, but everything is desaturated and the mid tones are dark… But everywhere the moonlight hits it is as if the area is covered in silver.
Nowadays I keep my nightly walks to the vicinity of buildings… Not because I am afraid, but to leave wildlife in peace. I live being in the forest and at the same time being aware that I am in the home of wildlife and try to disturb it as little as possible.
Especially when we are walking with 4 dogs wildlife gets easily scared.
Adjacent to our house there are several large meadows and in the evening hares, deer and even foxes come out to snoop for food. We hear the weirdest noises in the dark. Did you know deer can ‚bark‘? I recorded a sound that sounds like an excited bark of a dog with a very sore throat and played it to a hunter. He said that these are deer that are upset by something.
This little lesson taught me to pay more attention to those sounds.
.
So how do you think I managed this beautiful picture while avoiding to disturb wildlife? How did I make this picture?

Yesterday we were hiking at the Albstausee. There is a wooden bridge where you can walk to the other side of the lake.
.
There is a little creek at the other side. Sadly I was unable to get good pictures and I was not really happy with the ones from the bridge… Ninja was really cute however and then I had to find my favorite of the bunch.
I took pictures from both sides several angles and had Ninja walk across the bridge. He was comfortable with it, which you can see well here.
These were my favorites 😊 I like the last one best 😊
Usually I take small bursts of 3 to 4 pictures so the buffer will fill only very slowly. Which is why the first pictures are a bit cut off… But then I thought I could just make a sequence video. Hope You like it 😊

Slowly we are recuperating from the past week a d the weekend.
It was really exhausting -the long travel and the short nights, the event itself and our appointment – but not in a bad way. I used to swim a lot and when you were done with those 2 or 3 km You were also exhausted but You also knew that You accomplished something. We wanted to make this possible on our end and it seems that we made people happy 😊
We have bad weather right now and I wait for better weather and make up for the companies that talked and supported us 😊
The dogs had recovered yesterday already, which made me happy 😊 …and a bit grumpy this morning as they demanded their attention and affection.
I really love how the bond with the dogs still improves bit by bit. Kaihu e.g. is in third spot so he gets a bit less attention than Hadez or Ninja do.
The dogs were outside and asked to come back in and I knelt to the floor and gave everyone a hug when they entered. Hadez was like „WTF, this is weird!?!?!?“ while Kaihu totally enjoyed this. He gave me kisses and it is the first time that he initiated playtime and we ran around the room and played pull-games with some toys.
Since then he crawled in my bed this morning, crawled to me on the couch earlier as I was replying to messages. He showed me in different ways that he appreciated my little gesture of hugs/kisses at the door. But he also showed Ninja a nice snarl as he wanted to approach, so I need to tune that down a bit and ‚elevate‘ Ninja again.
.
Thank You for reading and I hope You enjoy our content. If You have suggestions/questions please leave them below as I often get multiple times a day the very same questions and can talk about them only briefly in messages and can go into more detail here 😊
