At the mid-station of the aerial cableway to the glacier the weather changed constantly.
Sun came through and 5 minutes later the station was cast in clouds.
So we spent a good time waiting, which Ninja used to take a nap. While petting Ninja I noticed that the fog/clouds were casting tiny drops of water on his fur and Ninja’s face was totally covered by it. It did look so cute and reminded me of Ninja’s face covered in ice that I made on our infamous hike through a snowstorm in 2017 😆
But look yourself… Aren’t these little droplets super cute?
I was a bit sad to leave my macro rings at home, because here it would have been so useful 📷💦

As You may remember, this spring we have been invited by @karkaliscommunications and @tony_petfluenceragency to join a shooting by @vieler.photography a German Photographer famous for his pictures of dogs catching goodies. The whole event was sponsored by @joserapetfood
While I was a bit reluctant at first as I am not a fan of derpy pictures of Ninja and because things like these are never ‚easy‘ for me I came up with a lot of reasons why this would not be ideal, but Karkalis just kept solving these problems and I had no choice but to go 😆😆
In all seriousness, travelling to a far away town, meeting with people has never been easy for me, but fortunately Frank ( from @kaihu_unr_Hadez ) decided to join us with Hadez. This made everything a lot easier. Thank You Frank for being there for me and Karkalis for insisting 😊 and Josera for the opportunity.
.
Christian Vieler turned out not to be the allured TV Star Photographer I expected, but indeed was a down to earth, sympatetic person with a very good intuition for dogs.
He was even willing to share his techniques for these pictures 😊
In the end we got a few really nice pictures, which you may already have seen now and then on our live streams.
I chose to wait a while, because back then everyone posted these pictures and we were not very active in summer holidays. I wanted to gain a bit momentum again before posting.
.
So here is one of the pictures we created. I do not really know how to describe the expression as it is certainly cute and eminding me of a small kid adoring the glass of candy in his mother’s hands, knowing that soon it will receive one of these delicacies.
Kind of 😍😛🤤 if I wanted to describe it via emojis 😆
How would You describe it?
.
Thank You to all involved parties for this opportunity and the great results ♥️

One of my favorite captures from the #glacier3000 .
When communicating with brands I often hear „But You are walking your dog every day and take picture of him anyhow!“
It really makes me wonder if people realize the amount of work that is behind this account.
Maybe 5-6 years ago, I took pictures while hiking… If we still took pictures in the same forest we hike each day this feed would be pretty dull to look at.
Location-scouting, travelling has taken over taking pictures while walking the dog.
.
Expressions like in this picture, can’t be just made. Ninja needs to be walked to familiarize with the area if you want a natural pose. Otherwise Ninja will merely focus on my commands and show tension and ‚lets move on‘ in his posture.
Here you can see him a bit distracted, curious, happy, self confident, despite the gusts of wind, rain and clouds passing through.
People we used the aireal cableway with were already descending again when we were still halfway on our way to the top.
Then you wait for the right moment – light/wind/water/people/snow/clouds – and hope for a natural posture, the facial expression you are looking for.
Sometimes he puts his ears back or to the sides and an opportunity for a great picture is lost ( yes, I pay attention to a lot of details )
.
It took an immense amount of training to get Ninja to pose and be remote controlled ( my voice and handsigns ) like a professional model.
.
After taking the picture post processing takes a lot of time as well… Scanning through hundreds of pictures editing them, deciding which one to post and finally writing and rewriting the post ( 50 min so far ) which is followed by networking on Instagram… commenting, liking, keeping in touch with people…
In my busiest times I did that another 5-9 hours each day.
To me it is really annoying when brands do not value all the work, but crave to benefit from it.
.
I have cut down my time on IG to 1-2 hours at most, which means not all messages and comments will be answered, but I do read and appreciate them all. Thank You all for staying interested in our lives and pictures. It is the fuel this engines runs on.

Here is the release of joy Ninja shows after posing for the 2nd shit 😊
Actually I wanted a serious face shot today, but you can really feel the joy and energy in the first picture.

This picture has been taken at the Cabane Station of the aerial cableway to the #glacier3000 top.

Wish you a happy start into the week ♥️

Halfway to the top of the Hundsrügg. I just love the area… The past days I showed you pictures in the patches of forests and now we are standing on a pasture close to the Sparemmoss, a raised bog.
All of the meadows here seem to be pastures, separated by fences. This pasture was empty that day.
.
We have been busy bees today… Frank mowed the lawn and we cleaned out the water filled high bed on the terrace, which turned green this summer.
Don’t want to do that again ^^ Does anyone have some tricks how to keep the water clean?
.
Hope you have a great day 😊😊

You can see how Ninja is curiously watching passerbys, an Italian couple that was totally fascinated that Ninja kept his pose and was being directed from a distance 😀
„No, You can actually train huskies!“
„It is not easy. This is the result of persistent, day by day training for several years and handfeeding!“
„There are huskies that look like Ninja, but he combines several rare traits in a single dog, hence the ‚unusual‘ look.“
„Only a few percent of huskies have blue eyes, most actually do have brown eyes and few amber oney like Ninja.“
.
Depending on the people I encourage Ninja to engage with them. Sometimes, especially with children, I avoid that. For one I do not want to teach kids that dogs are children toys and sometimes they do not know how to approach dogs at all… for example I had 2 kids trying to poke Ninja with a Swiss Flag a couple of days ago.
What if he took the flag? They could have been surprised or scared and then everyone would look at Ninja as the culprit. If I grant the contact, they may return without asking… something might happen.
.
But most of the time, especially younger people, love to approach Ninja and are surprised how open he is… he does not leave much room for respectful distance because he will either try to give kisses, by putting his paws on the chest or by brushing up on one’s legs. The more excited he is being greeted the more open he will be.

We also hiked in Boltingen, an old ( it was mentioned first in 1276 ) small municipality in Obersimmental-Saanen, the Swiss Alps.
.
The area is heavily forested and has small orchards. I am such a fan of trees and the patches and rays of light that manage to breach the tree crowns. It is as if there were small spotlights and those deep shadows.
.
We hiked along the Sparemoos, a raised bog in 1800m elevation. I loved the mosses and the moist underground, which helped to provide a sensation of cool during the hot summer weather.
.
I know people like the closeup pictures of Ninja, hence the 4×5 version of the picture here. However I suggest to check out the beautiful picture in a wide format in our story. I hope you like it 😊

After our visit to my Homeland area at Dahn we spent a weekend close to Boltingen in Switzerland.
.
Frank, from @kaihu_und_hadez, took part in the Glacier 3000 Run. In a nutshell it is a 26km run from the valley to the top of the peak in 3000m height.
.
I took the aerial cableway 🚡, since I am lazy. It would also give me a lot of opportunities to take pictures of Ninja on the way up. This picture has been taken at the middle station at Cabane.
.
I also wanted to walk the glacier and make some pictures the peak walk. However due to the glacier run I was held back when I wanted to walk towards the glacier and when I wanted to go to the peak walk they have metal grates with spikes ( to provide grip in the icy winter ). Dogs usually dislike walking metal grates, especially when you can see the floor meters below and the ’spikes‘ that poked Ninjas paws did not make it better. There were many many people, since it was the finish of the race. Ninja felt extremely uncomfortable and I decided to scrap the idea to make pictures at the peak walk, even though they would have become great.
.
I am just very annoyed at the social media people from @glacier3000.ch as I had written mails asking if it was possible to walk to the glacier despite the race and what I would have to consider as a dog owner. The ToS and web page did not offer any information. They still have not answered any of my mails.
.
Ninja was as charming as ever and loved to be there. Many people met Ninja and he made new friends. People were more than once surprised by Ninja’s kisses. The aerial cableway driver got a special long and intensive kisses over all of his face and I was surprised that he enjoyed every second of it 🐺👅👮♂️
…and many people took pictures of Ninja gave him some hugs and pats.
.
If it was not for the total useless ride to the peak of the mountain ( with 80 Franken costs it is not cheap ) I would have had an even better time.
We descended to the Cabane station again and cheered at all the participants of the race.
But more about that the next days.

It is really beautiful where we live, but home has always been the Wasgau, a low mountain Region in the South West of Germany, at the French Border. I love the sandstone rocks, castle ruins and also the little creeks and lakes… Now and then it feels just great to be back and to visit family and friends.
It was quite a surprise when we ( Frank, Raphaela and her friend Ria ) decided to go camping in Dahn.
3 years ago we had a great time camping in Dahn and having a meet up with friends from all over Germany, Switzerland and Austria for a few nice hikes.
So we decided to give it another try… But we did not get the nice ‚out of the way‘ camping spot we had last time as it was vacation season and the camping ground was nearly full… With loud neighbours and the lack of comfort of a real bed we almost wanted to cut the trip short 😆
I felt really bad that the others did not enjoy the time. But after the second night it already felt better.
We stayed only a couple of days, but I enjoyed the time, especially with my 2 sisters and their families.

While we spend most of these super hot days – 104°F // 40°C – inside I was looking for an older picture to post.
This is one of my favorites… As You know I like Ninjas serious face and moody backgrounds. It was an equally hot day, but directly at the riverside.
.
If you have followed our videos you may have noticed that there are a lot of meadows around us and last evening we took the dogs to run around at one of them.
.
While Hadez, Kaihu and Roja were playing together Ninja was dashing around for himself. When Roja disciplined Hadez for playing a bit rough, Ninja tried took the opportunity to put himself above Hadez in the hierarchy 😄 But I quickly stopped this behavior.
It is not common that adult wolfdogs tolerate intact rivals of the same sex. So while I enjoy that they seemingly like each other I have the thought in mind that their friendship might come to an end during such a confrintatiin… and that would be a real shame.
After they circled each other a bit with stiff legs everything was back to normal. I tried to distract Hadez to have him focus on me instead 😊
.
As it is really hot I will give the dogs the ice cream I made for them a few days ago today… So look forward to the live stream later 😊
