For this Throwbackthursday I chose on of my favorite pictures.
Where I live, close to Mainz we do not have a lot of snow… last year we had snow on 4 days. So whenever it snows I get the camera and Ninja to go out and first and foremost enjoy the snow. I absolutely love how snows swallows all sound… its like walking on wadding/cotton… and even more silent as in the fog.
Always wonder how it must be for dogs… they usually start to dash around like crazy… maybe because all those scents are covered my a blanket of snow… I do not know… but even Ninja makes leaps of joy just because he is happy…
Then we make some pictures and go for an extended walk… just to get the moat out of it before it vanishes away.
I was thrilled to see snow a few days ago in the black forest and made me realize – not only because of Ninja, but also because of family and friends – how gifted I am.

I get these questions every day… I like to play with pictures, to blur the lines between ( #lowcontent ) #wolfdog and dog by using proper composition, lighting and posture… but that does not count for the people we meet. Ninja does have a certain presence about him…
.
I know from his papers and even more so from his behavior – conpared with real wolfdogs – that Ninja is a pure dog.
But that leaves the claim open that he might not be a pure husky, maybe a cross with a Swedish Elkhound… or a Tamaskan… there are plenty of possibilities…
.
Fortunately there is a solution for this problem: @embarkvet .

It has been such an exhausting week… we took things nice and slow today… for the most part.
I must have spent 16 hours a day trying to organize this account this week. So today It was all about regeneration.

It has been raining but Frank wanted to go jogging and we accompanied him on the bike (Frank is one of these crazy sports maniacs) with the dogs pulling us. I was a bit reluctant, but yeah… It was fun in the end and I enjoyed it.
.
We drove aside the river along picturesque alleys of yellow, orange golden covered trees… even in the rain it was beautiful.

I had Hadez and Ninja in front and they did a great job at pulling me. Oh I made a video… do you want to see it?

Now the dogs are tired, I could use a little nap but enjoy the warm tub 😊

It is somewhat scary for me… So far Networks with a more than 150 000 000 followers/likes shared out fun video on the balcony… and as I am working my way through the messages more want to share it. This is totally overwhelming.
Usually I am a timid/shy person… learned that next to a beautiful woman or dog its like being invisible. Like a shroud of deflection… everyone stares to one or the other, but noone at me.
There used to be a sketch by Monty Python, „How not to be seen!“ …and I loved the idea…
Generally I feel good, being alone… out there in the woods, seeing no one… just enjoying things as they are without the need to express things…
Of course there are a few select people that I enjoy being around… but if there are too many it simply exhausts me… so it is scary that so many people were interested in what we are doing….
Of course some of you been with us since the start and you know us really well by now…
I can deal really well with online communication, there are no gestures or expressions to analyze… just plain text and the occasional meaning between the lines.
Just wanted to say a big Thank You to each one who loves Ninja, is inspired or whom we manage to sweeten the day. Thank You for your encouraging, touching messages and comments.

The past days have been pretty busy. I had appointments and lots of stuff to do. We got featured by 9gag, Unilad, Ladbible which resulted in many new friends and many messages I have yet to answer.
Also I was able to sell some of my pictures, yay!
However I am a bit overworked, accidentally deleted the work of the past weeks while synching data the wrong direction. Then I copied 200GB pictures on top of the deleted files, before I noticed… there is no chance of recovery. No use for frustration… I will just redo… new and improved 😊😊
It has been an amazing week nevertheless. I should be able to post again as normal and catch up with the messages, still 300+ to go 😁😁

To help the dogs to try to stand on different elevations, surfaces, etc… we use this like button.
It says „Like!“ in various voices.
It is a great tool, because the dog gets the confirmation right away that he is correct.

When we fetched the button yesterday, Roja – the poodle immediately started pressing the button inside because she knew she’d get a reward afterwards 😊
Hadez was as pro as it gets… he wanted the chicken without reward, but as I did not give him the leg, he eagerly pressed the button and got his reward.
.
Ninja however was not used to use the button on hard soil… we basically used it only on carpet or in the woods, so he very careful touched the button when we practiced it inside… he did not like the loud noises of the button hitting the stone tiles and barely touched the button. This is why he touches so careful here 😁

It has been a while that I posted a picture like this. Usually people prefer Ninja close and large… filling the whole screen… it works in many cases but often you leave out the beautiful landscape.
So it does not matter if you are e.g. in Switzerland or Austria… Canada or in Your backyard… if there is not much background and it is all blurred… who’d really be able to tell… But look at this… the sun casting rays into the fog…. the lovely cool fall weather and Ninjas breath… I love the scene as a whole… the forest looks much nicer with Ninja in it and the forest gives Ninja this primal appearance… randim encounter in the woods… the picture is more than the sum of forest and Ninja…

Try to zoom in and realize how much of this scenery you would be missing out if I cropped this image…
Sometimes I really miss the landscape format… in large, with all these amazing details, this tells a story… but on a cell phone, not much larger than a stamp is more difficult to immerse in the scene…

So I taught him to crawl slowly over the floor, by scratching the floor.
I think he makes the cutest faces while doing so… a bit shy, because he knows he would love to pounce, but is not allowed to… you can almost see it in his body tension.

But if you ever had his paw in your mouth from jumping up on you or on top of you, you quickly realize that slow is better.
„Paw in your mouth?“ It does happen… more often than you think 🐾👄😄

I taught Ninja to lay down exactly where I am pointing to. Then I simply moved 5cm forward (2 inches) and pointed there… it is to bothersome to stand up move forward and lay down, so, he crawled instead.
