Doh… I forgot to post this picture from the Silbertal. You may have seen it on facebook (we have the same name), but I forgot under saved posts here on Instagram.

Ninja fits right into this magic forest. I llove these dark fir tree forests… soft green moss covered ground that is soaking up all sounds… and the moist scent of earth and bark and needles… I want to go back there now…

We do not have a fir tree forest nearby… sadly… just a very dry open and sandy creeping pine forest, with thousands of brambleberries growing everywhere… .
Ninja also loves all these scents and is usually very excited and observant. This is what you can see here. Something, caught Ninjas attention… his body is not under tension, so there is no need to call Ninja out of this… when I ask him to pose and stand still he will do so… only if there is a real strong stimulus, e.g. a deer running away, I would need to distract him and turn his focus towards me 😊
You would see his muscle tension grow and have plenty of time to recall him.

A few days ago I laid my hands on a @gopro from Frank.
I loved that I could have my hands free and still record fooling around with Ninja.
Since I try to share my life with Ninja I instantly had the idea to share the PoV when we play around… sure I need to practice a bit more… but for a first try I really like it 😊

We had 2 more calm days that had been pretty warm. So we had to delay our hikes to the late evening… other than that nothing interesting happened. So much for the exciting life we live ^^
It is weird when I lack sleep and nothing of interest happens I cannot think of anything useful to write… or when I do it sounds odd.
I spent the last 2 mornings blocking and writing DMCA takedowns of people infringing my copyright.
If people follow me and use my pictures for personal use e.g. as a wallpaper I do not mind… if it is a public profile and they did not ask it really depends on what the profile is about… do I want Ninja to be displayed? Is attribution properly given? Is the pjcture unaltered? I can’t possibly dm everyone so I end up either leaving it be, or blocking the person… if the profile is offensive I file a DMCA takedown…
Commercial use of my work brings srvices like @copytrack (they seem a bit overworked) or @photoclaim on the table.
Those pages and shops know exactly that they are using my work without consent and that they infringe copyright. They would have to license these pictures to be able to use them.
I mean if you go to a baker and take his bread for free then it is theft, but because my pictures are a digital good people just use them for free? But if that same shop would have legally used my pictures they would have to pay for them… it is not like I am greedy, but I also do need to live from something… there the same damage done. This is why I like copytrack and photoclaim… they find the owners of such a feed and ask for this license fee… and if necessary start a legal proceaa in 140 countries worldwide…
How do You think about this? I mean it is legal to use the inapp features of Instagram and Facebook… share to post, share to story… or to use the share button… but uploading such a picture without consent is not covered. Does a photographer give up all rights just because he provides his work on IG (He does not by the way, copyright stays mine, I allow FB or IG to show my stuff, nit third parties) How would IG look without all those amazing creators?
This was on.my mind for quite some time…

The Monday Blues is totally unknown to us… We treat every day as if it is the most fun of all. I mean… it is Monday, if You like it or not… and it will stay Monday, no matter what… so why not make the best of it 😊

Today I recorded this total cool video of Ninja goofing around in the woods… but well… the voice activated camera shut itself off, before we even started and I did not notice ^^ Bummer… This was my personal monday fail 😁😁
But at least I had fun doing it 😀
…and can better the attempt tomorrow. When I fail like that I need to set it aside for a bit 😁
Hope you Monday has less fails 😁

We have had the first foggy morning. It is cool, I even put on a sweater, because of the drastic drop in temperature. It is almost as if our weather has become binary… too hot <--> too cold
But I won’t complain… the season for moody pictures has begun… Yay!
Finally I completed a few tasks on my to do list 😊 which is why I did not have too much time this week to be here as much as I usually am.
And I have an idea for a new video to create. There is still the video of our morning sport to be done… but I suppose it won’t be popular and I was looking for something more interesting to post…
I have a few old videos that are quite interesting, but they are already on our facebook (ninja.vom.wolfstor as well) but then I had an idea… and started to work on a video. It took too long to finish it today but I’ll – most likely – get it done over the weekend 😊
Weekend… I hope you have fun plans… and if you are here, good rain clothes 😊 We will probably have a chilled weekend and I am looking forward to that… wish You a great weekend.

We have been busy today… @kaihu_und_hadez have gone to the little cabin in the mountains and I had some time to finish up some stuff.

We have been on a small walk this morning here in the hills and as we went shopping Ninja was the first time alone since a few weeks. I was worried that he might break some stuff…
You can leave Ninja alone for a few hours… I do not like doing it, but sometimes you have no choice… appointments, shopping, etc… as long as it won’t change from light to dark outside it is no problem. You can even leave food or treats in the shelf or on the table.
But when we have been with friends and other dogs for an extended period of time, it is tough on Ninja… I gave him something to chew… rawhide… (Disclaimer: not the stuff you get in the supet market… real rawhide, that is NOT bleached and not a byproduct from tanning. There are even bits and pieces of dried meat on it and it does not smell like chemicals)
It is awesome to clean teeth and even Ninja takes a while to chew it down. It was my intention to keep him busy for some time.
I could see in Ninjas greeting that something had happened… he pooped in the living room… a huge pile…
I felt so sorry for him… he does not have accidents at all… so it must have been tough on him… We will make a special hike in the evening, once it cools down.
Usually I let Ninja listen to radio or an audio book but I forgot that today… what are you doing to help ease being alone?

What a perfect fit for a Monday… Mr Grumpyface Ninja 😁😁

Of course this expression did not last a second… but today I want to chime in to all the monday moods. It is not easy to get this face… I have to fire Ninja up, give Ninja’s confidence a boost in order to get him to bark… and midbark or shortly after he has this intense stare I captured here.
.
I noticed a couple of days ago that the sun cast this amazing pattern on the dog’s face when the sun stands really low.
With closed blinds however there is not a lot of light so you have to balance shutterspeed in order to have no motion blur when the dog moves, aperture and ISO.
You can see in this shot that the sharpness is not very good… I should have used an higher ISO (filmspeed) and a faster shutterspeed.
A higher ISO would have introduced a bit more noise in picture but it would have been acceptable and better than the motion blur from a barking Ninja…
Other pictures were sharper, but I liked the expression here a lot more 😊😊 i hope you do, too.

A new week has started and I really hope I do get more done this week than I did the last. Anti-Procrastination Week II

This week we received many direct messages with praise for Ninja, the pictures/videos and even the captions.
It feels realky good to hear all that… there is a lot of work behind all this – probably most underestimate the amount by far – so I am glad that people appreciate what we do and even better that we achieve to make you happy or cast a smile on your face 😊😊
Without You, I would probably not be that motivated to attempt to better myself each day and would probably have stopped a while back. But to know that each day some of you wait for our post to appear is an intense motivation. Thank You 😚😚

We wanted to go to the Schluchsee in the Blackforest today, but instead we invited the Blackforest to cone to visit us 😁 Part of @kaihu_und_hadez family visited us in the afternoon…
While Frank prepared waffles and cake Ninja and the rest of the pack were excited about all the attention they received and enjoyed the cuddles a lot.
Especially Roja, the poodle, and Ninja were excited. Hadez also demanded some cuddles and wanted to play with out visitors.
While it was a fun day, I would also have liked to go to the Schluchsee in the Blackforest. „Aufgeschoben ist nicht Aufgehoben!“ as we say in Germany. Postponed is not cancelled. .
Last evening we found a nice spot to take some pictures while we were doing some sports with our dogs… today we’ll go there again to take some pictures.
Hopefully Ninja will still remember the basics for posing and modeling now that our summer break is coming to an end.

To meet Ninja for a play date… sounds cool… doesn’t it?
But when and how does Ninja play? As a rule of thumb, he doesn’t play…
Of course there are some exceptions to this rule… Ninja does not play with males, and tries to avoid puppies… see the 3 Videos with Leotie, the fox further down the feed.
He usually just tries to ignore what they do… and corrects them in a very patient and subtle way… it feels like playing dead keeps them away 😁😁
If they continue to pester him he often gives in and plays for some time… but we are talking of hours trying to sit things out.
He ignores females, if they are fixed… one sniff and he goes on 😁 which is a shame because many females have a crush on him… Smilla for example, the dingo, always charges him, gave him neckbites in his mane, jumped around him to impress Ninja with her agility. Or Fine, a Border Collie female from our packwalks… but you really had to fire up Ninja so he would play for 2 minutes… he loved to play rough with Fine, but she loved that and Ninja was the only one who was allowed to be a bit rough to her.
But the only dogs Ninja really plays with are females in prime heat… he he knows no boundaries… its like he drunk in emotions or high… he can play and try to impress the girls for hours… e.g. here with Kalisha at St. Peter Ording

Sadly we had to postpone today’s planned trip to the Schluchsee on Sunday.
I am looking forward to the dense and wild parts of the black forest.
The road is parallel to the Schlüch in the Schlüchtal, a tight valley with steep rocks on both sides… many toppled trees and untouched vegetation… I simply love this kind of wilderness… well… that is all the wilderness you can get in Germany 😊😊
I recently chatted with an Australian where they have like 1 person per square kilometer… in Germany we have 230…
You cannot go – on average – more than 2km before reaching buildings, a settlement or more… many areas are somehow cultivated… and its rare to find untouched nature… so I enjoy every bit of it…
I also want to get a newer version of this picture… one of the first ones I made with my camera and one of my first favorites 😊😊
