3.5 years ago I got to know Hadez… and his crazy (aren’t we all a bit crazy?) human Frank.
Usually I get a lot of messages where people ask to meet up with Ninja and me, but never really follow through. Frank’s message started as the typical request. „Ninja is beautiful… bla bla.. I want to get a puppy of Ninja & Jade… I want to meet the father of Hadez… even better why don’t you come and visit us in Switzerland?“

It was a lot to handle for me at first… the invitation to another country, etc… Frank stayed persistent and did not give up and seemed to really really want to meet… so I called the breeder of Hadez (no she is not on Instagram afaik) and checked out if he really was interested in a puppy and if he’d get one… she confirmed and said „I am certain you would like each other.“
Hmh… this sounded intriguing and I decided to throw all doubt overboard and to pull through with it. Visiting Frank seemed out of the question. But as he would have to pass passing Mainz to pick up Hadez I offered to join him ( I am sooo generous! 😁) and drive the car as I knew the roads really good.
From the first moment on we had a great time… I was so relieved… we have a similar humor… and were laughing most of the trip.

I am glad that I agreed to meet Frank. Over these years he became a close friend. These are hard to find, especially since I am not an easy person.
This is what this picture reminds me of… the friendship not only of the dogs but also their humans.

As you can see in our story Ninja had a fun walk with his son @kaihu_und_hadez this morning while I had my appointment at a German court. It was a good day and I finally got some government help that took several years to get this through… so I am really happy and also a bit exhausted.
I missed Ninja last night. He stayed with Frank and I will be happy to see him again, soon.

Today I caught up with all messages and looked at some more pictures.
I like this one, even though it is a bit burned out in the bright areas, such as his legs, I really like the framing and all the green.
It reminds me of a random encounter in the woods… hiding behind a tree trying to get a glimpse at Ninja.
Just as you peek through the root his gaze meets your eyes…
Wonder what would happen next if it was a real encounter 😊😊

As I got countless requests to give out Phone Background pictures I cropped 10 pictures and will add them one after another to a Story Highlight for easy access. But more about that tomorrow.

The dogs are still tired from our weekend trip and hardly want to move… so nothing exciting, hey not even anything boring happened today 😁 Once in a while this is a welcome change.

Not sure how early I can post tomorrow, but it would be really nice to cross your fingers for a personal appointment in the morning. .

We returned last night from our trip to Austria, Silbertal.
The past few days were quite exhausting and I slept well into the day.
I started editing but did not get a good feeling for the post processing yet… many different lighting conditions and pictures in cloudless midday sun make things more difficult than I hoped.
After the first glance through the pictures my favorite picture was Ninja standing outside the hut looking towards the edge of the forest.
At night the meadows in gront of the cabin are frequented by deer. So most likely Ninja caught a scent of them and observed the area for its source.
It was a really nice weekend and it turned out to be a great decision to join for the trip.
I went hiking at my own, currently very limited, capacity but enjoyed it nevertheless 😊
Next time I’ll be stronger 😁😁
I loved that after a year I was again able to visit Christian and Indira with their wolfdogs Lupo and Ely… the ones that you know from the stories.
I should visit them again once things here in Mainz settled down a bit more 😊😊 I have hundreds of message requests to answer, it will take a bit to get through them all… so please have patience 😊 I am still catching up with everything 😊

As You have probably seen in our stories, we are currently in the Alps a mountain region in Europe, to do some hiking.
@kaihu_und_hadez have the last cabin in a secluded valley, the Silbertal.
Earlier today I wanted to take a picture in these fir tree forests. Where I live we have only pine trees, so I try to take every chance to get a shot from Ninja in a different kind of forest.
Pretty fast I came to the conclusion that walking further up is a bit too much for me ( a month ago I was in the hospital because of lung-problems ) but fought myself to the fir trees I remembered from last year.
I took Ninjas harness off, and pit him on a rock stepped a few feet back to get a good capture, when I heard some panicked voices. People dashes to their dogs to leash them and I leashed Ninja, too… wondering what happened… hmh… nothing… so I moved on and made more pictures.
On our way back a man rushed out of their hut towards me and told me he thought Ninja was a wolf… I gave the usual explanations.
The others went on a long hike and I explores the area around the cabin as you can see in the stories.
I do not have an editing program here but wanted to show you a picture from today so here are my horrible Instagram editing skillz.

The house is cleaned, my things are packed…
I’ll take the offer to join @kaihu_und_hadez to their weekend trip to the mountain cabin I described yesterday.
It is weird that I dis not take a single capture of the cabin.
While this will change over the next days, here is a picture with a glimpse at the cabin.

I have no idea what is planned and what I’ll do… In case you meet us in the Silbertal, don’t be shy 😊😊

Just need to prepare a little more stuff and then off we go 😊😊

We probably won’t have Internet, but I’ll be back on Sunday the latest.

Tomorrow we might get to this beautiful place in the Silbertal, Austria.
I am almost positive that I might join Frank @kaihu_und_hadez for the trip.
There is a little secluded hut near the end of the valley, where the dogs may roam free… just some woods – the ones you can see here – and the mountains are behind us.
A landslide went down at the other side and a little creek is trickling down… the bottom of the valley has a wild river ( at least the last time we had been there, not sure if there is much left of it now )
It would be really nice to be there, just won’t be able to hike a lot yet, my lungs are working better, but they also are far from full strength. I can imagine that even smaller hikes in this picturesque landscape will be amazing… just laying there in the cool grass with Ninja at my side…
The cabin itself is what you imagine a typical mountain cabin to be… made of wood, a fireplace/stove that makes even cold winter days cozy warm… and you just long to grab some of that hot tea/coffee.
I expect it to be a lot cooler than down here, but I like that… I always have warm hands and feet 😊😊
This sounds too lovely to miss out on the opportunity, doesn’t it?

About 30 minutes prior the „Ninja goofing on a table“-video we had been at these meadows.
The grass was taller than Ninja and it was fun to see him jump around like that…
Usually Ninja is too lazy for this… but at the time he really enjoyed these jumps.
I had to hold the camera a lot higher than usual, so it could focus on Ninja as he jumped. The drawback was that the sense of the jump’s height is a bit lost. I have a composite of 3 pictures that I will post as a story… just to give you a better sense for it.
I might go to the Austria at the weekend. I am not sure if it is a good idea… The health, breathing, alps… but it is also cool and Austria 😁😁
Maybe I can trump my shots of Ninja in the Silbertal last year… or maybe visit the Silvretta-lake… Sounds so tempting…
We could maybe make some new father-and-son-pictures… possibly meet Lupo and Ely with their wonderful humans 😊
Still have a few days to decide… should I?

One trick I want to improve is Ninjas talking.
Ninja used to be a totally silent dog… no barking, no howling, no talking at all.
One day I noticed that when I sent him backwards – away from me – multiple times in a row he expressed his discontent in a very slight woof… thos worked once or twice every other day… it took me many weeks till he realized that I wanted him to do use his voice and eventually shaped this into a bark and then I also taught him to do this growly voice to talk… this took me months.
Ninja is very submissive… has been since I got him… and I think it is difficult for him because this might be seen – in his eyes – as disrespectful behavior. So I need to encourage Ninja a lot before he even tries to give a sound.
If you look at the start you see that he barks and instantly looks away… also when I tell him „No after the first bark!“ This is appeasing behavior.
When Ninja does the „Grrrrrrrr!“ correct he stares straight at me. This shows that Ninja is now comfortable with the situation.

The whole training took a few minutes, I let Ninja dash along the perimeter a few times, tried to raise his confidence by giving him a difficult task, which he succeeded and uses this confidence to practice grrrrrrr…
.
The last part when Ninja correctly jumped left (his view) behind the couch, I just hoped I could show off…. fortunately it worked 😁😁

A day at the wonderful river Aare in Aarau… with our good friends @kaihu_und_hadez . It is Hadez, Ninjas son, you can see chilling aside his dad.
Te Aare-river has some nice isles, where you can spend the day away from passersby.
It is very clean, everyone takes their thrash with them and the water is so clear that you wonder if you can actually drink it.
There are many fireplaces at the riversides, where people bbq or sit together at a campfire in the evenings. I am really surprised how many people actually spend their evenings like this.
A few hundred km downriver, where I live I only enter the water with watershoes, the water seems dirty and smells like industry… and everywhere you can see people leaving their thrash behind. It is not a surprise that people spend the days and evenings at special recreation areas… which are crowded, loud and – as a dog owner – often attract the wrong kind of dogowners.
