A couple of days ago we saw 5 foxes on a single hike…
Since then I must have spent many hours observing the nearby hillsides and did not see another fox, yet…
I really wonder what drove them to go out hunt during the day… maybe because all the tracks were covered by a thick layer of snow… maybe they did not find enough food during the night.
I have been looking and looking, but since the snow melted 2 days ago I only saw a cat hunting in the fields…
I think Ninja misses the snow, love his happy face while he is dashing over the fields

This was our chalet for a couple of days during the toad trip to Lunteren with Ninjas amazing son @kaihu_und_hadez .
Apparently the view to our living room was quite interesting, judging by the pauses and open mouths of passerbys 😁😁
.
At first glance a pretty nice place, quite modern and comfy with 135m2 ( 1500ft2 ) more than enough place for 2 people and 2 dogs.
But the little things killed the fun of it… the coffeemachine needed descaler, there were no manuals for anything, no descriptions on the switches… everything was trial and error… we did not get the fireplace working at all…
While the chalet was nice and clean the dishes where not, the pan was sticky with stinky fat… *yuck*
There were 2 toilets but at the reception you got only 1 roll of toilet paper 😁😁 and even towels cost extra.
Aside the horrible WiFi, were only one of us was able to be online (so slow) at the same time, we did not let this hurt our good mood 😊😊
It just felt like booking a flight where every bit costs extra just to look cheaper than it is.

Not a bad experience overall, just a bit tainted. As you could see in our storyvideos we made the best of it 😊😊

Here Ninja is striding through the Veluwe National Park in Netherlands, ehich is 55 square kilometers big.
It is such a beautiful place to come and visit… You can meet some nice people, too 😊😊

Over the weekend we made vacations in Switzerland with @kaihu_und_hadez
Today it is a special day, my son Hadez ( on the left side ) has his 3rd Birthday today.
.
It was so nice to reunite for this special day. We started by having a hike to an ancient oaken tree with a breathtaking view over Basel and the surrounding areas.
.
We spent the afternoon in a shared foto studio in Dietikon with @gualtiero.c to be able to show you these today 😊😊

Still had a rough night. Thank You for your comments and get well wishes. I read them all, but it is hard to focus on things… even shortened a planned hike in the beautiful Hoge Veluwe today.
.
When the wind howls, the house is making weird noises and as you step outside it feels like an ice cold whip across the cheeks.
.
We made a liitle morning walk and noticed a lot of deer together with horses on the paddocks.
Ninja and Hadez ( @kaihu_und_hadez ) were happy to see them… the deer not so much 😁
.
In the afternoon Hadez went to visit Djuna and will do so again in an hour. I just want to sleep and rest, which is sad because already today is the last day here and I have yet to make a shot that is worthy of this region.

A wolf has been sighted here the past weeks, reactions to our dogs are even more extreme than usually…

We are in Ede together with @kaihu_und_hadez who is meeting his girl Djuna, a female Tamaskan.
.
We have been in the Veluwe Narional park together. It was a very nice hike, but Ninja pulled like crazy to get to Juna, so we ended up training heel for quite some time.
.
It is a real fun experience to see wild cows (and horses as we were told) running free…
.
Later wind came up and I was freezing… still had shivers half the night and I am still feeling quite bad.
But if you promise to help out you just got to do it 😊😊
.
Sorry that I cannot comment back at the moment, the wifi is not working half the time and I am feeling really sick. I will make it up in a few days.

We have a cold wave and I don’t feel well… influenza is spreading and I had 2 nights full of shivers… can feel that my firehead and cherks are burning…

I’ll spend the day with our friend @kaihu_und_hadez and a beautiful dutch female tomorrow 😊😊

Love the sunny and cold weather we are having at the moment.
We had been going long walks the past days… without taking pictures… to balance „work“-sessions with leisure.
Ninja decided what to do, where to go… how long to go… to my surptise he never took really long hikes or visit places we visit seldom. He took familiar paths, digging at the floodplains, going to the Gemarkung to dash over the meadows…
This surprised me and I will include his favorite spots more often.
We also met someone doing bikejöring in our forest… ended up chatting for more than an hour 😁😁 and gained a new fan 😁😁

What Color is Ninja?

A banded top coat means each cell produces one color pigment and then switches to another color, each hair is multicolored (often black, red, white)… As I understand, Agouti refers in general to this type of banded top coat and usually has a darker undercoat.

Wolf Grey is a special form of Agouti, where phaeomelanin dilution turns red hair into cream and greyish thus banding each hair in white, grey and black, with brownish colored fur on head, ears, sides and a creamy undercoat.

So Ninjas coat color is „Wolf Grey“ and thus also „Agouti“. Here are the results of Ninjas color tests:
A-Lokus (Agouti) – Aw/Aw
B-Lokus (Coat Color Brown) – B/b
D-Lokus (Dilution) – D/D
E-Lokus (Coat Color Yellow) – E/E
K-Lokus (Dominant Black) – ky/ky

That is how it feels here as winter came back to hold us in its icy grasp 😁

I love that the arms of the river are frozen tight… Ninja is not really a water rat, but it is nice that we can both get on the ice together.
.
But with the gusts of wind it feels freezing cold… When I pull my shawl over ears and face… pull up the hoody of my sweater and look like a Ninja myself 😁😁
