„But… but… but… I am such a good boy… I meant to do exactly as you asked… just got carried away a little.“ Today Smilla returned home to her human… Ninja is a bit quiet… They both had a bad start 18 months ago, when we got to know each other. Everything was new for Smilla. She was grumpy and disciplined Ninja loud and often.
However over time, with each visit, they got to like each other more though. It was pretty one-sided at first, Smilla loving Ninja while Ninja tried to ignore her.
.
Being part of Smillas pack also means being under her protection as she defends him from any attack.
Ninja started to appreciate having Smilla around and occasionally returned face-licks.
.
Eventually he played with Smilla and tested his boundaries with her, e.g. while running her over in play 😁😁
.
I am pretty sure right now he misses Smilla a bit.

Don’t worry she’ll be back 😊😊

Thanks to You we had an amazing 2017.
Thank You very much for taking part in our daily life and adventures with Ninja, Smilla and Leotie ( @fox.leotie ). For 2018 I have some great ideas up my sleeve that will hopefully keep you entertained with this feed.

By far the biggest success was the video of Leotie pestering Ninja to play.
Leotie was seen as dominant and I do not think this is a correct assumption.
For this reason I thought it would be a good idea to show you all the stages of Leotie trying to get Ninja to play.
It usually starts with a bored Leotie trying to get Ninjas attention.
She starts by cleaning his feet, ears and sniffing him up, like a good Fox would do.

She is craving Ninja’s attention… But he continues to play dead… Eventually Leotie will climb on top of Ninja, jump or even try to hump him to provoke any kind of reaction… It is – in my eyes – a mixture of testing boundaries and getting his attention… As he reacts moving his head moves his head Leotie is encouraged and tries harder… Eventually he will give in and they will play for an hour, sometimes even longer.

I will upload a 5 minute video of them playing to our Youtube Channel. You can find the link in our story highlights. (Just need to render and upload it first)

With this video I wish you a happy, healthy and successful 2018. Pursue opportunities, follow your dreams, love and laugh.

The snow, last night, did not last long… as we headed out, rain slowly took over and melted noat of it away.
Later in the night the rain froze over… still had those creaking noise while walking, just not as I expected 😁😁 I was able to make a nice Leotie and Ninja video though, which I will post – probably – tomorrow.
Adobe crashed a few times while editing and I just do not have the nerve to continue now and need a break.

Instead, here is a re-edit – more sharpness, colors, etc – of a shot of our last snow hike with Ninjas beautiful son Hadez ( @kaihu_und_hadez ) in Switzerland.
It is one of my favorite shots and I thought I could polish the picture with new techniques I learnt the past year. I think it does look even better now 😊

Oh… I am happy… while it rained half the day the temperature just dropped… and it began to snow…

Is there anyrhing more beautiful than a hike at night through fresh snow? It will be quite bright at night… The light of the (almost) full moon will paint the forest in silver and reflect from the snowy ground.
.
It will be almost silent, all noise swallowed by snow… just our breaths and thr creaking of my boots.
.
They expect the strongest snowfall in an hour… I might just try to make a night snow shot… wish I had proper lighting… will have to try using a flashlight.
.
Snow snow snow… this december we had now 4 days of snow… more than in some of the past years in total… I am happy.

We have had mud and rain for 2 weeks now… I still have my new favorite shot to post, but do not want to post another „homestudio“-photo right now.

Here is a shot from our hike to Kelkheim, also one of my all time favorites.
Just as we arrived at the peak of the Großer Mannstein a snowstorm arrived and the clouds covered everything… Up there you can overlook the Rhine-Plains, Frankfurt and its skyscrapers and further. To take care of Leotie ( @fox.leotie ) is a whole bunch of work.
Sometimes the dogs come a bit short, because Leotie requires full attention when she is outside.
Currently Ninja deals a lot better with it than Smilla. You can sense that he is exhausted, but nevertheless he is giving me a while off now and then when he keeps Leotie busy with playtime.
She really loves to jump on him and test her boundaries…
I recorded a few moments of our daily routine… playtime, treats for tricks, and Leotie playing with a glove, her favorite toy.

Burglary Reports incoming from all over the world.

Fat old guy, with white hair and beard, dressed all in red, is intruding breaking into houses. He will climb down the chimney, eat all your cookies and drink your milk. Supposedly he carries a large sack with him.
Please do not approach him. He seems dangerous and threatened to punish the „naughty“. If you notice any form of intrusion, do not hesitate to call the police and do not engage!

Do not worry. I am an old school Ninja, mastered the art of Ninjutsu under the school of hard knocks by Master Splinter. I will be able handle the situation just fine!
