As of a few years ago Halloween has not been known in Germany. The closest thing I can think of is the Walpurgisnacht, Witches‘ Night.. from 30th April to 1st May…
People light fires to keep bad ghosts away, kids trick people, people wear costumes and young lads climb a long pole to the top and lovers make lines of chalk on the ground to make their secret love public.

Today we did not get much done… A morning hike, shopping for groceries and already it is dark.

In Germany we changed back to winter time last weekend… It is just 17:00 (5:00 pm) but it is already dark outside…
That is one thing I really dislike about winter.
.
But there is so much more to like about winter… I never understand people that are like „I hate rain, I hate winter“… Neither rain nor winter care… why not find things to like about winter and enjoy them? I bet it will make it much more enjoyable 😊

This is the second time in 3 weeks that a storm caused a lot of damage in Germany.

We are often quite lucky with weather in Heidesheim and we had no more than a bit of rain and wind.
.
We decided to hike the orchards at the hillside… In the afternoon the weather cleared up and felt comfortably warm in the sun.
We decided to head back down to the forest to have better protection of the wind. .
Swarms of geese were flying south, seems like winter is coming.

The dogs were asking for a long hike and we had been out all day hiked in a large spiral around Heidesheim through the #lennbergwald and used the train to return home.

It is a really nice hike through the Morgenbachtal close to #Bingen .
It is a good 10km hike and most of it is an ascend 😀 but it is one of the most beautiful side-valleys of the Rhine.

There is a little creek and waterfalls, lots of rocks to climb 😊

Lightroom edit of "Wolf look-alike Ninja in the forest"

Last night @mccoy_wolf complimented my last editing video. I thought I could create another one.

While there are a ton of people that edit far better than me (I’d recommend the tutorials of @phlearn @photosincolor ) I also think for a quick edit the outcome is quite decent.

You can save these edits as presets in @lightroom and apply them to other photos… then you just need to tweak some settings…
This is usually the workflow behind the photos you see here…
Some general adjustments… then I fine-tune things a bit…
