Yesterday we left @furry.road and met @mariionbch Romain and their 4 beautiful Huskies in the Forêt Domaniale de Brotonne.
It was great to get to know Narwa and „let petit renard“ – aka patate or Sundae and see them in action.
.
Later @whitepawth and me continued to Paris where I dropped him off and continued through Belgium and Luxemburg towards Mainz. We arrived 14 hours after we started in Normandie 😊
In the night Ninja was very sad and missed Nox, still does… This is why I though I could distract him with a little walk around the animal park in Mainz and then further to the big sand.
Ninja is still a bit sad and we are living in a minute for the afternoon pack walk here. Hopefully meeting many other dogs will cheer him up a little.
.
It was a great weekend, thank you for your hospitality, friendship and the interesting topics 😊 I hope we can repeat that one day.

After picking up @whitepawth in Paris last evening we continued towards Normandie where we met @furry.road
Ninja and Nox liked each other right away, in fact so much that Ninja spent the night at the door sniffing for Nox and she happened to check for him a couple of times as well.
They were very happy to meet in the morning and seek each other’s vicinity. It is really heartwarming to see Ninja trying to win Nox‘ attention via playing and kisses. Then the roles change and Nox shows her affection for Ninja and this is when I made this picture.
Hope You like it and that You have a great day 😊

Food… is a pretty controversial topic for pets. Everyone does his own thing… One likes the convenient dry food, canned food and others give leftovers from dinner… then there are niche products with e.g. food made of insects, there is vegan feeding and on the other side various forms of raw feeding…
.
I do not claim to know it all, don’t judge you for your own choice of feeding. Over the past 23 years I have tested different methods and I have found BARF works for us.
It is a method of raw feeding, where meat is mixed with vegetables, oil, intestines, fat, bones, fruit and other nutrients to give the animal all the stuff it needs.
Here is what our 4 dogs eat each day.
.
As You can easily see there are different types of eaters. Some take their time and others just eat the whole bowl in a handful of seconds.
I am certain Your dog fits one of these categories 😆
.
I do not want to spoil the video, but as I basically cut the feeding at each dog after 9 seconds, who do You think was fastest? Who was the most fun to watch and who would you take to dinner into that fine restaurant you always wanted to go to?
.
I really like how raw feeding works for us now. We have become routined and the meals are prepared very quick. The dogs are really crazy about our BARF from @lico.nature
Ninja has always been a very picky and slow eater, just as I am (more picky than slow). It took him a bit longer, but he ate it all and asked for a refill 😆
.
I like that we know exactly what we feed our dogs. There are no additives, no extrusions , no high temperatures and that leaves the nutrients in the food in a way that can easily digested.
Lico Nature provides an easy and convenient solution for BARF.

We are preparing for our next road trip. Tomorrow I will most likely travel towards Mainz via the Black Forest but I am not certain how long I will be staying.
As announced I want to visit the Normandie as well, when the time is right.
.
I had been fetching our new delivery of RAW meat from Frank’s mother and saw some snow at the far end of the valley. So I hope we will see some more snow tomorrow and that the weather will be as gorgeous as it is today 😊
A little frost, warm sun… the dogs want dearly to take a walk, but I have to do some work and thus have plenty of time the next days.
Hadez, Ninja and Kaihu are outside enjoying the sun right now and some delicious dried meat. They love this as well 😊

‚You did not really just throw a snowball on my face, did You?‘
.
One thing I love about polar dogs is that they have so many facial expressions. It makes it harder to capture the facial expression you want to capture, but at the same time it is super easy to read your dog and see what is going on inside him 😊
.
Here, fitting for a Monday, a slightly annoyed Ninja. He was digging through the snow, which he loves to do aside rolling around in it, and had such a cute layer of snow on his face. I wanted to capture the moment but Ninja decided to shake the snow off just when I had the camera ready… I threw some treats into the snow but none of the snow wanted to stick to his face. So I took a bit of snow and put it on his face 🤭 This is the look I got 😆 needless to say that I won’t need to bother to repeat it. Sorry Ninja I got Your message ❤️
.
There were no ill intentions, I just wanted to recreate the moment 😊
Usually I do not do such things either way as I do not think they are authentic. I do not edit out leashes, ask dangerous stuff of Ninja for a picture or put him to do stuff he does not feel comfortable with… But the bit of snow on his face was just too cute 😊
Does Your dog show you, when he disapproves of your actions? 😆
.
We are currently hiking again in the Black Forest at the Hohfelsen, close to Kirchhausen, which is where I made the beautiful story picture above the clouds/haze. Just got to love these places.

I just love to put Ninja in a bright spot in a dark forest, as usual I’ll put the wide version up as a story after I posted this. Let me know what You think 😊
.
Frank’s daughter is here and is brushing the dogs, who somehow decided that winter is over and start to shed anew 🙄⁉️⁉️
.
People often praise my photography, but I know I am still a long way off to where I want to be. I see a steady improvement but love to get new input and ideas. One of the channels on YouTube l is by @nigel.danson a landscape photographer. No this is not a sponsored post, I just love how he talks about composition, light and how he approaches his landscape photography. It is a great way to improve one’s photography to look someone over the shoulder and adapt a thing or two.
Wish I could visit Great Britain to take pictures one day. I think it is just such a beautiful country, Nigel Danson’s pictures make me fall in love with this beautiful country 😊
I would really like to combine Ninja and landscape photography a bit more. Pictures where the both of them are more than merely the sum.
I notice how I focus so much on Instagrams 4×5 ratio atm… and I want to fix that… over time.

Sadly we had loads of rain the past 2 days which leaves a lot of time to catch up with messages and also to edit the pictures we made over the holidays.
.
When we returned ho.e from our hike through the Black Forest the sun set and there was a beautiful haze which gave a beautiful light. I will add the wide version as a story and it looks amazing 😊
In the background you can see that we were still above the clouds 😊
We just stopped at the roadside for this quick picture and I think it was really worth it.
.
Wish You a happy weekend 😊

The past days have been very crazy 😊 As You saw in our pictures and stories we spend New Year’s Eve with our good friends Indira, Christian and they wonderful wolfdogs Lupo and Ely. Who traveled all the way from Austria to spend some time with us , Thank You ❤️ Ely has become such a handsome Wolfdog 😍
.
Yesterday Sandra came with her beautiful Tamaskan Aleu to visit Hadez and take a tour.
She wanted to ascend the #hochkopf close to Todtmoos and 5o continue along the ridge line through the snow.
It always amazes me how people are willing to travel this far to meet us, Thank You 😊
.
As You can see we had the most beautiful weather. Behind Aleu You can see the hills of the black forest. A bit further, below the clouds in the fog is the river Rhein and the border to Switzerland. In the far distance you can see the Alps, roughly 75m//120km away
At the hochkopf tower we still had snow, which was mostly frozen, but further down snow kept to open and shadowy places…
Thank You, Sandra for visiting us again, glad that You arrived safely back home after those 1200km

Thank You!
.
Thank You for being here, being interested in our stories, pictures and videos. Another year comes to an end and I am amazed how my initial sharing of Ninja pictures has grown from family to friends to a huge fan base.
This is my 6th year and I love sharing my love for this incredible dog with You. People often ask me about my secret, but the truth is that – as You cannot experience Ninja personally – I just want to show You Ninja as he is and why I ❤️ him so much.
.
I hope for the next year we will continue where we left this year. Thank You for Your support and wish You a happy and healthy New Year.
.
We will be celebrating the New Year with @indira_lupo_ely_wolfdogs Indira, Christian and their beautiful wolfdogs Lupo and Ely. I am so thrilled 😆😬🤭
Now I will have to prepare a bit for the evening. See You next decade, hopefully 😊

Ninja while doing ‚Beide!‘, ‚both paws!‘. It is so fun that he take off ground even with his back legs… And the partial wave with his front leg.
.
I think I have always been super excited and happy whenever he started doing this trick that he enjoys putting so much energy and effort into it 😊
.
Today we want to go find some snow, checked some placed in the Black Forest. But as it is a beautiful day with bright blue sky and warm temperatures, the snow seems either gone ( even the Feldberg is above freezing ) or overcrowded. So we are not sure if it is worth to drive an hour to a nice place just to not be able to focus on nice pictures.
.
Do You have a special trip for us? Black Forest / Basel / Aargau / Solothurn? Where is your favorite spot? 😊
.
I am sitting here on the couch and I always see these beautiful rocks in the distance, I am quite tempted to go there now, even if it lacks snow. I wanted to go there so often and it just looks like 10km away…
.
Ah well… We will find a nice spot. Hopefully You will have a great day as well. Enjoy 😊
