Apparently the Patch 1.12.1 will change the way mounts are handled. The price for mounts will greatly reduce, while the skill to learn riding – 75 for bkue mounts and 150 for epic mounts – will cost 90 and 900 gold. No worries, if you already have an epic mount you will learn the riding skill automatically, once the patch goes live. Read more about the upcoming patch here. There are no patch notes availlable, yet. I will give an update when they are published.
Lag issues introduced in 1.12 are being Hotfixed in US
In the WoW-US Forum a posting indicated that the lag issues that were introduced in Client Patch 1.12 have been narrowed down and will be fixed with rolling restarts. I just hope that Blizzard-Europe will react fast for a change.
„The lag spikes that players have complained about on many realms since the launch of 1.12 are fixed. There are restarts scheduled for late tonight for all realms that do not yet have this fix. I understand this has been frustrating for all of you. It’s been frustrating for me too. I’ve worked on little else this past week.
The realms that had hardware upgrades this morning already have the fix for this issue in place, in addition to their new hardware. As far as I can tell, and I have been watching closely, they have been completely free of this problem all day. Though the cause and the fix for it were elusive until late last night, we have been able to detect it reliably, albeit after the fact, since late last week.“ – Ogre
Known Bugs for World of Warcraft Patch 1.12
Horus has started a thread with known bugs on the US-Forum. I do not why Blizzard Europe is so indifferent to its customers feedback. Maybe they don’t care or they simply cannot do it.
Until we get our own thread let us just read the WoW-US Forum here.

Patch 1.12 will hit European Servers at 23.08.06
A Blue Post has confirmed the upcoming Patch on Wednesday 23.08.2006.
„Please note that all realms will be brought offline Wednesday morning between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CEST (Paris Time) for our weekly maintenance. This maintenance is extended due to 1.12 and the cross realm battlegrounds.
All realms should be available again shortly afterwards.
We apologise for the inconvenience.“ – GameMaster
The patch will bring cross realm battlegrounds, world PvP and the long awaited Rogue Review. I will link the Patch Notes tomorrow when they are online.
Blizzard will remove persistence of temporary Item Buffs
The temporary item buffs (e.g. poisons, sharpening stones and shaman weapon buffs) introduced in Patch 1.11 will no longer persist through zoning or logging out.
„Players will notice in the latest PTR update that a change was made to the functionality of temporary item buffs (e.g. poisons, sharpening stones and shaman weapon buffs.) While we only just recently allowed the affects of these temporary item buffs to persist upon zoning and logging out, due to the extra demand it was placing on our hardware we’ve decided that for the time being, it was best to revert the change. We do anticipate this functionality will be available again once the anticipated hardware upgrades have been completed in preparation for the Burning Crusade’s release.
We thank you for your understanding.“ – Nethaera
Well, I really enjoyed not having to put on poisons every zoning, but apparently Blizzards „excellent“ Hardware cannot deal with it. If it was not that sad it would actually be funny.
Rogue Talent Review for Patch 1.12
Here is some information and links about the upcoming rogue changes in patch 1.12.
- Rogue Talent Changes
- Eviscerate, Rupture and Garrote
- Rogue Talent Review
- Rogue Talent Calculator
Finally there is a little buff for us rogues, but I am not 100% sure how I will finally set my talents. The changes are less than I expected, since they left out a buff for Sinister Strike and I am not happy at all with Vanish, Blind and Adrenaline Rush.
