Yesterday @redwolfsanctuaryrrc asked in preparation of an upcoming storm „How do you prepare for bad weather?“
.
This instantly reminded me of this… the craziest hike of last year in switzerland, where we hiked full of confidence into the fiercest snow storm I have ever experienced.
.
This is one of my favorite shots ever that I made as we reached the sheltered valley.
.
The ice-crust and snow on Ninja’s face show perfectly how stormy it has been. I love how his eyes pop, since everything else is covered with snow/ice 😊 and his posture and you can see that he still has a lot of fun 😊 He is simply in his element.
.
We are crossing fingers and paws for our friends at the sanctuary and send them some warm thoughts.

Woow wie schön!! Habt ihr Momentan noch schnee? Wir leider gar nicht 🙁
Oh wow, how amazing. I really love his frosty face!
Fantastic. So pure this one!
Yaaas wicked shot !!!!
I think it demonstrates how well these animals are equipped for this weather… while the snow would melt on ordinary dogs and pose a serious threat the fur of northern and primitive breeds is perfectly isolated and the warmth kept within the body. Thus the snow/ice won’t melt.
Careful with the wolf red chaperone!
I bet you guys were completely soaked! Worth it for this shot though

@kleo_thehanoverian Extrem gut isoliert… kein bisschen Körperwärme geht verloren.
I love his frosty fur. He looks happy!
Wow Switzerland that’s amazing , my mom has been wanting to go to Swiss for a long time
@griffonthecockapoo My pants were soaked, my shoes were soaked as I was not prepared… and then they started to freeze…I was ill prepared and that is why I remembered it when the sanctuary asked „how we would prepare for a storm“
